IF the Payroll is handled in-house.

At my last company, payroll was handled by our Corporate group. What I did 
manage to get set
up was that the security in H/R would let me know AHEAD of time of any 
voluntarily leaving
and then she would notify me of folks being terminated. We had a form for this.

Where I am now (MUCH SMALLER) it is a little more difficult actually because 
payroll is ADP
and branch managers aren't used to quickly relaying this information. I'm 
working on this...
