                   Thanks  for your help.   I still looking at the books,
manuel etc. I have't   used API.  If you can able shed some more light, it will
be of  much usefull.

                    But,  sometime few years before, I remember  on one of my
program, I displayed a message that tells the user  " "Who is  locking the file
he is trying to Purge,  But, I did'nt  use the API for  that.  I forgot it now.
I am still struck and trying to recollect what I did.

Raj,

The List Object Locks (QWCLOBJL) API in the Work Management chapter of
the System API Reference sounds like just what you want.  It will give
you a list of those jobs holding a lock on a given object (member in the
case of a database file).
