Rick,

In our case we had to modify the print translation table to use
something else for the ESC code.

It appears that the emulation converts the AS/400 print stream hex
codes.  Especially if the print file is created with *YES in the option
to replace unprintable characters.  On the AS/400 we chose the "^"
(shift 6) and made that translate to ESC and everything worked fine.

Make sure you document this! If the PC gets swapped out, or a new
version of software is loaded, someone may have to manually edit the
translation table.

We had an older emulation product that would allow for data stream pass
through.  They referred to it as "transparent" mode.  We don't use CA,
but it might be worth seeing if there is a setting for this.
