Yeah ... I keep forgetting that most people use WINDOWS, instead of a GOOD
OS (Like Mac or OS/2 -- seriously).

But my point remains that RPG is old school. I will grant that ILE RPG has
brought a lot of "good stuff" to RPG, but the fact also remains that most
programmers are still programming in RPG III.

I have done both ends; I've built "mission-critical" apps using Visual
Basic, and I have built "graphical apps" using RPG! I mean everything from
charts to pull-down menus.

(did the pull-down menus in 1986; not bad for a guy that can't "can't
quiet wrap your chubby little knuckles around RPG", according to Leslie.
Never mind the PROGRAM GENERATOR that I wrote ... or that fact that I TAUGHT
RPG ... and TAUGHT GDDM PROGRAMMING ... not bad for a "PC programmer, thrust
into a midrange world".)

Peace,

-- Don

P.S. My brother went to Goddard!

Don you forget two things. With nearly any GUI set of solutions you are
always just a few days from completion but never actually there, and
delivery to the end users is a whole new career path for someone.
