I am also one of those vendors. But I only talk about my product if somebody asks about it and then it is just a single post. It is taken off-line after that. Actually, us vendors do NOT get a choice. If we do not follow this guideline, David will ban us! BTW, I think it is a good rule. That way there are NOT sales pitch's. But there is also a positive side to having various Software Vendors on the list. Some of us do some fairly strange stuff that a normal End User shop would not be doing. Such as sockets (me and others), hard core security exit points (Patrick Townsend), messing about with CD juke boxes (the folks at MagSoft), ASCII spool files (Formation MG) and other things. This way, when somebody does need to do one of these things, there is somebody on the list who already has "cracked the nut"...such as doing LODRUN from a CD. And a lot of other things. And of course, we do provide solutions. And I feel that we also add value to the list. As for the "I'm looking for a job" posts, there is a list for that also. Midrange-Jobs I believe.
