Karen,

We have an ISDN that is also not "always on".

The ISDN service is intended for outbound traffic and if we want to
host, we have to keep the connection alive.

We downloaded Netlab 1.4 and set up a 10 second ping to a trading
partner which in effect keeps our connection alive 24x7.

BTW, from what I understand, cable modem outbound traffic is at 33.6k
