One alternative method to (almost) ensure no release compatibility
problems is to create a stand-alone file of the fields you are interested
in from say DSPOBJD command (eg. ODLBNM, ODOBNM etc).

Then in your cl program, do a DSPOBJD to a separate file in QTEMP say.

Then do a CPYF from the DSPOBJD file into your known stand-alone
file specifying FMTOP(*MAp *DROP) and hey presto you have a
guaranteed file with no LVLCHK or Fromat problems.

Obvious disadvantages - it takes longer due to the extra CPYF involved.
