I believe Per is talking about GPG (Gnu Privacy Guard), not PGP :-)

GPG is released under the Gnu Public License, and therefore we can do
pretty much anything we want with it, as long as we continue to provide
the source code, with any modifications we make.

Per, my time is pretty tight, but I might be interested in helping out.
