Karen, When we generate reports on the AS/400 we usually write to spool files. Then copy the spool files to a database file (CPYSPLF command). Then copy the database file to a stream file on the IFS (CPYTOSTMF command). Then allow browser access to the IFS directory via the HTTP server. But, there is a lot of overhead in this approach. One thing I will be experimenting with in the near future is writing reports directly to the IFS via some api's I've written. In other words, bypassing the spool file, and subsequent copy processing. Just building reports in the IFS rather than using spool files. Nathan Andelin. <snip> My question is, how would you access these error and balancing reports without requiring additional desktop functionality? <end snip> +--- | This is the Midrange System Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to MIDRANGE-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
