Henrik,

I have seen only two 40S machines on eBay, and both were pretty
recent. Both were a 2109 processor with 4 6607 drives (16GB), 64MB,
8mm tape, and V4R2.

The first sold for $3350. The second ended at $1750 without meeting
the reserve value (so did not sell).

I watch the eBay auctions in part because I have a 40S myself. I
figure someday I may find a 2110 or 2111 processor to upgrade my 2109.
I don't want a 2112 because it would jump me to the P10 tier.

I have done numerous upgrades to my 40S via eBay auctions. I now have
more memory, a 6390 tape drive, and a 7117 expansion so I now mirror
my load source and have RAID-5 on all 8 drives in the 7117.

If you know of more cheap 40S's, particularly a 2111, let me know. I
could be interested just from a parts standpoint.
