IBM is overhauling its server lineup for the e-business age, starting with
a new mainframe it says can replace a football field full of lesser servers
from rivals Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems.
The new eServer zSeries 900 mainframe, which will succeed the comapny's
venerable System/390.....

In addition to the zSeries, a new pSeries will replace the current RS/600
line, an iSeries will succeed the AS/400 and an xSeries will replace the
company's lower-cost, Intel-based NetFinity Servers.
