  CE(n) is installed on the AS/400 like other OS/400 features. It places
code in the CA install directory that is then loaded to the PC with the
Client Access Selective Install function.  If CE(n) is loaded on the 400
you use as your install source then SSL will appear in the list of
optional componants (so will Lotus Notes integration if you have Domino
on your 400. Some other features are the same)

  CE(n) is the Client Side of SSL.  It does not create a hole in
encryption, rather this is the piece that utilizes encryption to access
a secure AS/400.

  It should be noted (in my experience at least) that the initial
connection using SSL takes a LONG time.  On my 300Mhz PII it takes
nearly 5 MINUTES to connect to the 400. On a PIII 800 it's still about 2
minutes. After that speed is fine. During that 5 minutes the PC
Processor is utilized about 50% running Ops Nav or the WS Session doing
the initial key exchange.
