• Subject: To Upgrade or Not?

Greetings Thou Most Enlightened Mid-Rangers and Illuminators of the
eServer/iSeries/Uh... whatever, path.

I am @ V4R3 at present, which seems to have all the blessed favors from
IBM which I have wit to engage. Should I Upgrade to V4R5? If so Why? And
supposing I should, what exciting adventures am I likely to encounter in the
process? What quits working?

What do you, see as a significant improvement in upgrading? Is 4.5
slower/faster? Does it require more resources? Are any
functions/capabilities significantly enhanced? I am attempting to code in
RpgIV/C ILE with just a tad of Sql, which remains largely an unexplored,
dark and dangerous territory, and making heavy use of APIs, mostly for a
5250 audience both wired and wireless, at present. How can an upgrade
further my insignificant, fumbling efforts?

Running a 620-2175 with I believe, software subscription.

I would be most thankful for any bits of wisdom which you might wish to
reveal.

Regards from the outer edges

Ricardo
