I'm more worried about paying taxes to the i-series nation, now that I'm a
citizen.  I could now be paying income tax to the state, the feds, and my
new country.  I'm sure the value of the signing bonus is in the two figure
range (low end), if you include shipping and handling.   

I'm still curious about the aforementioned national anthem and pledge.  I
think I'm too old for the (i-series) draft unless things get really scary.

You  saw the  list of gifts and have an idea of the value.
IBM is also very aware of the limits before this has to be reported. 
Your Back Pack  or whatever the other gifts listed are  below those limits
