Steve,

Data queues are supported over TCP/IP, as are all of the components of the Client Access Express package.

The data queue support is exposed through the following interfaces:

- ActiveX automation objects
- OLEDB
- C/C++ API's

You won't need MQ Series for what you're trying to do.

IBM has some good information available at their Client Access website:

thanks john for the very helpful response,

1) Use stored procedures as much as possible - especially considering your WAN layout.
2) Prepared statements are best.
3) Instead of polling the print request file, consider the use of a data queue instead.
4) Don't open/close connections with each request.

are data queues supported using a client access tcp/ip connection?
If so, are the pc side api's used the same as those for ca using sna?
or do I need MQSeries for data queue support?

Steve
