A 160m 8mm cartridge wil indeed support 7GB uncompressed, 14GB compressed. Refer to the system handbook at http://publib-b.boulder.ibm.com/Redbooks.nsf/RedbookAbstracts/ga195486.html?Open ...Neil D.BALE@handleman.com Sent by: owner-midrange-l@midrange.com 2001/05/22 10:00 Please respond to MIDRANGE-L To: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: 6390 data capacity I've got someone telling me that the 6390 on their box is capable of storing 7GB uncompressed, 14GB compressed on a single 8mm 160m cartridge. I find that interesting since the cartridges I look at clearly state that they are 3.5GB uncompressed, 7GB compressed. Can anybody using a 6390 fill me in on this? FWIW, it's running on a V4R4 9404-400. Oh, and where would I find this kind of information on IBM's web site? TIA. - Dan Dan Bale says "BAN DALE!"
