Just to clarify, the IBM default for System request 3 is DSPJOB, not WRKJOB.
DSPJOB never has a command line.  But your point is well taken when you ask
whether this will suspend the DLYJOB.  I believe you are correct on that.  Is
there a way to prevent System Request anything for a given job?  Oops, guess I
need to read up on the APIs or exit programs you referred to (does anybody
know their names?).  That may not be a good idea for something that will
enventually put the system in a restricted state, for a variety of reasons.
Bottom line, just getting to the System Request screen itself will probably
tie up the job.  Will check this when time permits.

And, yes, for the purposes of this user profile, I think I would specify
LMTCPB(*YES).

How about this then:

System request 3 to bring up WRKJOB. Will that suspend the DLYJOB ? My

check it again at work.

Also, since Dan didn't say whether he was making the profile LMTCPB(*YES)
or not, I'll assume he hasn't and my WRKJOB turns into a hack.

The system request hole can be closed: theres an API or Exit (whose name
escapes me) that can be used to close this hole, or I  guess you could use
an OVRMSGF to override the msgf system request uses to get its options.
