Fascinating.

Now how does a search on the Midrange Computing site not turn this up where
a search on an external site (Google) does?

I'll have to add Google to my list of places to look.

Thanks to all for your help!

I went to www.google.com and typed in FIXDECERR as the search string and got
exactly one hit, http://www.midrangecomputing.com/ftp/prog/92/B920106.txt,
which contains the source code and the readme from the Midrange Computing
Programs 01/92 issue.
