Give the SNDM utility a try. I just got a few weeks ago, a requirement to
send spool files. SNDM does not require that the SMTP server be on the
AS400, the mail server could be anywhere on your network: on a Win box or a
Linex box etc.. . SNDM works fine except that I have had a problem running
it in batch which I have not yet solved.
But interactively it works great. Search the web for SNDM and you'll get
it's web site.
By the way I would like to hear from anyone who is using/has used SNDM in
batch to discuss this particular problem
