:Actually for low volume local users the dial up ain't bad. We
:used to have a 5494 at the other end of town. Left the dial
:up going all day. Local phone company figured more and more
:modem users were doing this. They counterattacked and talked
:about having a length of call charge or some ridiculous thing.
: An army of little old ladies counterattacked and said they
:are on the phone for hours to people and how dare they punish
:poor old shut-ins. We won.

:Twinax is 5,250'(one mile) while most twisted pair I have seen
:is usually under 500'.... I suspect you are looking at a
:remote controller and a telephone line for those folks....(5394-5494)
:
:Since you work for the telephone company, a dedicated line
:would be the way to go.....(4 wire) but lower volume users
:could be put on a cheap dial line and run just fine at 33.6 kbps...
