With in the PASE environment you get a set of AIX utils.  GZIP(i think, or
I grabbed the free one a while ago) and TAR are there.  gzip -d then tar
xvf

I think you gotta stay out of QSH and stay with calling qp2term for the
shell program.

How did you untar it on the 400?  I have gunzip as part of the QSHELL
utilities but no tar.  Did you untar using a PC utility (which is what I
usually do with tar.gz type files)?

OK so far...  I point my browser to
http://aixpdslib.seas.ucla.edu/misc/sambanew.html and grab the 4.3 binary.
FTP that sucker to the IFS and gunzip and untar it,  I think that can be
done in one step but as I was unsure of the syntax I did it in two.(didn't
want all kind of crud running around in the wrong dirs).
