AS a part of our quest to give native full screen 5250 and 3270
support to our Laservault archiving product, we developed some
technology that may be reusable.

Now don't laugh, but what we have is PC applicaiton telnet
support for AS/400 and mainframe green screens (and more plain
vanilla VT-100 telnet screens.)

It means you could write an application in Visual Basic (or some
other activex language, like Foxpro) and create interactive
screens that will work on 3270, 5250, and vt-100 telnet.

Why would you do this? becasue you have a PC database that you
want to be able to inqure or update from multiple servers that
aren't PC technology based.

I know some of you will think this is backwards, the database
ought to be on the iSeries, and if you are developing an
application around an existing iSeries, that certainly makes
sense. But if the application already exists on a PC, and the
logic is nontrivial, and you want legacy access to it, then it
might be just the ticket for you.

I consider this a unicorn application, so the price will be a
little higher - $50K.

One place I can think of using it is in our content
management/workflow ap.
