OK - I remember cheering loudly - jumping up & down, and I also remember
similar performance when I was manipulating a 60,000 record file on a PC
@ the time.
DB2 on an AS/400 is the flat footest, most fantastic - quick as
a bunny - faster then a speeding bullet Database in the world. Problem
is, a green screen ain't going to show it off unless you're crunching
reports @ Light speed. You need "Yahoo like" traffic to see the real
lookup speed. A relational database on an AS/400 kicks the butt off of
mainframes, etc..

Server to AS/400 - the simple query on the 400 that was 5 minutes was 45
minutes on a PC... for Database - the 400 is the fastest on the
planet...
