What we do is use a local data queue to put the transactions into a queue
for remote systems. The remote system has a job for each system it needs to
pull from using a remote data queue. We never try to push the data only
pull it. Now the problem may be that the data queue is full and your
application is looping trying to write to the data queue. With our method
of pulling, I can start up multiple jobs to pull from a system that is
generating lots of transactions. Generally I have a job that checks the
number of entries on a locale data queue and if it exceeds a thresh hold we
submit a remote command to start another job to pull.

Subject: Remote Data queue Job

My Client has following situation:

one AS/400 model 720 as backend server to service 4 frontend AS/400 270 with
Data queue to transfer data from frontend to backend.
The backend had 80~90% disk busy, but the CPU Utilization usage only 20~30%
on peak time for data receiving from forntend.
The situation drivened the system tempary hanged for interactive job. When
lower data transfer load, the system CPU utilization usage always 100% and
Disk busy also 80~90% for interactive job. So the lower data transfer load
is normal. Why heavy data transfer load from frontend drivened the Disk IO
Bound and downing the system throughput ? Which system job handle the
receiving data queue data from another AS/400 ? How do I solve this
condition ?
