Sorry, John. I didn't mean that in reference to your post or topic. It is
certainly good to see good press for the iSeries. The Dover Downs, ACSC or
IBM PR folks did a great job getting it out there. It isn't really news
though, is all I'm saying. In the casino business it's the norm. It's a
dog bites man story. That they got it covered is a coup. Look at the list
of references for ACSC in the article. Add to that home grown systems,
Bodenstab derivatives, etc and the iSeries has 9x% of the casino market
locked up. It's a belt and suspenders market, and only fools go with
something other than the iSeries /400.

Not knocking you for reporting the story at all, and I'm sorry if/that it
came across that way.

The News was "The News". It wasn't that another Casino runs on an
iSeries,
I thought it was significant that;

It on New.com not in an existing iSeries Mag.
It didn't start off with "Legacy Machine....
It actually said that it was faster than a PC-based system

and it lead with "IBM's leading edge iSeries 400 architecture...."

That's why I thought it was refreshing to see.

ACSC's CMS(TM) system is based on IBM's leading edge iSeries 400
architecture and utilizes a proven integrated database that allows casino
operators to seamlessly manage all of their slot and casino software as one
system. Unlike PC-based systems, which the Dover Downs had previously
employed, the iSeries is very fast -- all data is provided in real-time --
and always available -- the iSeries has been consistently benchmarked with
a 99.987% availability rating.
