As Neil said I used an option 21 for the save so programs not being saved
is not the problem. BTW The 6 or 7 objects I have seen referred to other
times when saving CA objects while it is active are sockets that get
created in the IFS - they don't seem to be required.

I don't think it's licensing due the to as-svrmap listener ending but its
worth a look. There is also no licensing message in QSYSOPR which I would
expect if this was the case.

we did check the routers for any port restrictions and this doesn't seem to
be the problem. The fact that the as-svrmap job actually stops on the
AS/400 seems more of an issue to me although I'm not entirely sure what
part it plays in making a connection. I'll get the network guys to check
again rather than just "being sure".

Matt

checked all that and seemed OK although I can't help feeling that there is
a setting somewhere that is bringing me undone. We can get from one end of
the network to another - I connected to a box at the other site from the
AS/400 - it is just the actual CA connection giving us grief.

Anyway, thanks everyone for the suggestions - I'll go have another look
today. I suppose we may have done something wrong with the restore and can
always repeat that step :) Its only a test anyway, but thats kinda like why
I'd like to figure out what's causing this.

Regards
Evan Harris
