We already have the mail router setup to relay all messages to the notes
server part of our problem is the way we setup e-mail address on the 400 in
the first place.

ex My setup on the as400
<username> system   is attached to my user profile I also have
<username> tcphost   is where my smtp address is defined. This is not
attached to my user profile.

Scott M's suggestion to change the dire with the system name to define my
e-mail address worked when I tried it and that stripped off the the system
name from my outgoing e-mails.  Now all we have to do is repopulate the
DIRE's with the right setup and change any programs that use the tcphost
type address back to the address for the system name.
