Kathleen,

I'd start looking at data queues. You'd have to develop a procedure on the
PC that would place an entry on the queue. Then have a program on your
AS/400 looking for that entry. When the entry is received, do what you have
to do, then place an entry on another queue that your pc program would get
and confirm receipt. This is just a general idea. There are many specifics
that would need to be worked out.
