Found it - there's a book on installing software there. Whew.

Now, the next hitch: You can only upgrade to v5r1 from v4r4 or v4r5. As
noted before, I've got v4r4 install media, but no license key. Can I get a
key for my system? Should I just upgrade to v4r4 and then immediately
upgrade to v5r1, trusting that the 70-day grace period will serve (since it
will be considerably less than 70 days)? Should I forget v4r4, beg a copy of
v4r5 somewhere, and get a key for that instead (if I can)?

I like PDF manuals. I like having information available in HTML. I just wish
IBM would organize it a bit more transparently, or provide an index.
