Jay,

The necessity of the 4.3 to 4.5 and 4.5 to 5.1 is a myth.
Check pg 35/36 of the iSeries 940x Risc to Risc roadmap. The
book number is SA41-5155-05. If you have the "magic" it shall
be done intervening upgrades.
