Hello group,

I have a Pitney Bowes color copier/printer connected to our WinNT network.
My Windows 2000 printer driver indicates that the printer is a model: Fiery
X3e 20C-M v1.0. So I’ve made the assumption that Konica is the manufacturer
based upon other recent postings to this list..

I’m trying to connect it to our 400 which is at V5R1.

I’m using a remote outq with a dummy device description.

The configuration is as follows:

PGM

CRTOUTQ OUTQ(QUSRSYS/PB) RMTSYS(*INTNETADR) +

             RMTPRTQ(PRINT) AUTOSTRWTR(1) +

             MSGQ(KKELLER) CNNTYPE(*IP) +

             DESTTYPE(*OTHER) MFRTYPMDL(*HPII) +

             WSCST(QWPHPLSR2) +

             INTNETADR('NNN.NNN.NNN.NNN') DESTOPT(XAIX) +

TEXT('RMTOUTQ TO A LAN ATTACHED PRINTER')

CRTDEVPRT DEVD(PB) DEVCLS(*VRT) TYPE(3812) MODEL(1) +

             ONLINE(*NO) FONT(011 *NONE) +

             SEPDRAWER(*FILE) PRTERRMSG(*INQ) +

             MSGQ(*CTLD) TRANSFORM(*YES) +

             MFRTYPMDL(*HPII) PPRSRC1(*LETTER) +

             PPRSRC2(*LETTER) ENVELOPE(*NUMBER10) +

             ASCII899(*NO) IMGCFG(*NONE) +

             CHRID(*SYSVAL) PUBLISHINF(*UNKNOWN +

             *UNKNOWN *UNKNOWN *UNKNOWN *BLANK) +

             DEPLOCNAME(*NONE)

ENDPGM

For reference, I’ve been using the “Support for ASCII Printers from Konica”
IBM Software Technical Document at :

http://www-912.ibm.com/s_dir/slkbase.NSF/9a8372988ce4419786256a8d007b311c/ac
1d087b1cd0cb3486256a8d007a5cde?OpenDocument

I’m able to print to the printer/copier but my output appears to be
including some kind of control character string at the beginning of the page
and at the beginning of every line. For example, at the beginning of every
line I’m getting a &a+00216H

I’ve tried different variations in my configuration, but still end up with
the same result.

The main reason I’m trying to connect this printer/copier to my 400 is to
print some large reports in duplex mode.

Am I going to be able to do this using the remote outq approach?

Does anyone have any advice?

TIA
