Jay, it really is NOT superseded by V5R1, since the base of V5R1 is what the V5R1 cumPTF is applied to. You don't "grow" from V4R4 to V5R1, you replace the software. Its a good idea to be up to date in PTFs on the release your upgrading from, so it makes sense. In addition, if you plan on doing these one after the other, you want to apply the CumPTF to V4R4, so that you have an IPL, and allow INZSYS to complete after the first IPL. I wouldn't do the upgrade without applying the PTFs at V4R4. JMHO Pete Massiello Jay Maynard wrote:
I finally (after more than a month) got my V5R1 distribution from IBM. Since I can't upgrade from V4R3 to V5R1 in one step, I'm upgrading to V4R4, then upgrading to V5R1 from there. Should I bother with installing the V4R4 CUMPTF? My initial guess is no, since it'll all be superseded by V5R1 anyway. _______________________________________________ This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@midrange.com To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/cgi-bin/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@midrange.com Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. .
