I would ask IBM.  There could be a PTF that fixes something in the slip
install process.

I finally (after more than a month) got my V5R1 distribution from IBM.
Since
I can't upgrade from V4R3 to V5R1 in one step, I'm upgrading to V4R4, then
upgrading to V5R1 from there. Should I bother with installing the V4R4
CUMPTF? My initial guess is no, since it'll all be superseded by V5R1
anyway.
