As Paul has indicated, this method does remove pending email.

REVISED:

This is the procedure for removing a "stuck" email.
Symptoms are a high CPU usage.


Suggest you sign on as security officer or equivalent...

Do this first:

       endmsf

       endtcpsvr *SMTP



After these processes have ended,
then create this data area:

       crtdtaara dtaara(qusrsys/qtmsclean) type(*char) len(1)
                 value('?') aut(*all)
                           ^
                           c = clears all pending email
                           w = removes first entry
 **Choose the appropriate value option from these 2 choices...


Then do this:

       strmsf msgopt(*CLEAR)

       strtcpsvr *SMTP


SMTP CPU usage should now be normal...
