Spammers love the IBM community tools.  They closely monitor the newsgroup 
and add names to the list.  When you make a new posting to the news group 
it defaults to your email address.  You can override this.  Granted, you 
are supposed to have an IBM customer number before you can subscribe to 
the list.  Perhaps there are some iSeries users that rank right up there 
with the Columbian drug cartels, or some hacker site figured out a valid 
customer number.

Not expecting any comments for/against spam, Columbian drug cartels or 
anything else.  Just letting you know one method for minimizing spam if 
you decide to participate.
