Can't do that. The CLRPFM occurs late in the job, and I need to know before I start all the processing. I found the authorities needed for CLRPFM in the Security Reference (*OBJOPR, *OBJMGT or *OBJALTER, *DLT). The way I interpret that is that I need *OBJOPR and (either *OBJMGT or *OBJALTER) and *DLT. Is that correct? If I only need one of these, is one a subset of all the others? I.e., is *DLT a subset of *OBJOPR, *OBJMGT, and *OBJALTER? --- MWalter@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx wrote: > > Why not just monitor for messages on the clear? > > CPF3137 is the No authority message ID and CPF3203 is the Unable to > Allocate message ID. > > > Thanks, > > Mark > <snip> > > I need to clear a file in CL and check for specific conditions: > 1) If there are any locks on the file that would prevent a CLRPFM to > complete. > 2) If the user has the appropriate authority to clear this file. > > I know I need ALCOBJ for #1 and CHKOBJ for #2.
