Sorry, I wasn't clear.  It isn't the command itself, just trying to build
one on the fly getting the quotes in the right places.  Not one of the
experiences I like to repeat.

I agree with your assessment of the command itself.

I agree, SQL seems a solid choice, especially if you are creating the
statement on the fly, but I have to ask, what do you find 'error prone' in
using opnqryf?
