We are not NEARLY as complicated as big shops Rob.

And I was looking for anything I might be spacing since I have not done any
kind of box upgrade in a LONG time and ditto on a box swap (S/38 to AS/400)

If "nothing" is coming over then why the email to the list?  :-)
There are just so many objects not within libraries anymore, and so many 
other configurations, etc, that if you could upgrade first then do a GO 
SAVE, 21, you'd be far better off.

doing
a "box SWAP" thankfully and nothing is coming over :-)

A 620?  I shudder to think of all the hardware on that which might be 
incompatible with V5R2.  However, if you can, they I would strongly 
recommend upgrading it to V5R2 first.  Then, in theory, the IBM team could 

take the save and restore it into the LPAR just fine.  Providing the tape 
drive on the new machine is compatible.  Maybe they could even configure 
the old drive into the new machine.  Check obsoleted hardware carefully. I 

know that numerous tape drives have died between 45 and 52.
