Tucker:
We run What's up Gold on a W2K server that monitors every piece of server
hardware in our network and can send out email/page messages. WUG can
monitor a machine or a SERVICE on a machine. So it can tell you if FTP or
Telnet goes down. I think it is made by IPSwitch (www.ipswitch.com)

Hi,

Is there a simple way of checking whether the iSeries FTP server is active.
I have a client who FTPs data from and to us, and I'd prefer to know in
advance if the FTP server is down out-of-office hours before they contact
me, by sending an alert to my pager (the part that I CAN do!).
