My boss just came over and said that someone from SSA wants to come in an
audit our system. The software we are using started out as BPCS about ten
years ago (or more), but since then it has been  heavily modified
in-house, to the point where pretty much the only similarity is that both
systems manage transactions that record the process of making "products"
and selling them to "customers". When I got here (1998), I heard that we
had terminated out relationship with SSA years before, and since I've been
here we haven't ever heard from them that I know of.

Is this happening to anyone else? Any theories about what's going on? We
have all kinds of theories here, from the benign to the other extreme. . .
