Even if you have a virus scanning package handling your email, and on all your PC's, it's not a bad idea to still check for stored virus's on a periodic basis. Most of the vendors are hardworking. They find a virus and they quickly release a new pattern file. And then your software checks for patterns 4 times a day and downloads the latest. However, there is still a small window of opportunity between the release of the virus, and the release, and installation, of the pattern file. We use TrendMicro for our Domino iSeries based email. And it scans all email, replications etc. However we just ran their dbscan to scan our existing domino databases. It found several hits. True, we haven't ran the dbscan in quite some time. Their stuff does not scan the IFS in general. Rob Berendt -- Group Dekko Services, LLC Dept 01.073 PO Box 2000 Dock 108 6928N 400E Kendallville, IN 46755 http://www.dekko.com
