With Frankie ( www.frankenseries.com ) we IPL whenever he breaks, is in need of some wrenching, or PTFs. Very little point in IPLing anymore unless you are doing PTFs or hardware maintenance.

For real production systems we still recommend IPLing only when PTFs or hardware maintenance requires it unless you have a specific other reason (such as a memory leak that Rochester just cannot stop despite all the little dutch boys with their fingers in the code)

Once a week is once a week too often and daily would be silly.
