Navigator does not use NetServer to give you access to the IFS, whereas that is needed to see the IFS in Win Explorer. So they won't behave the same, always.

Check that your share is defined with all capabilities - it might be read-only.

As someone else said, the term used is a little confusing. A folder on the 400 was historically used for documents and other things in QDLS, true. But in Windows it is synonymous with directory, and it COULD be use, IMO, as a synonym for directoy when speaking of the non-library portion of the IFS. Perhaps not recommended, however. And file share is a Windows networking term, as you probably know. You need to define file shares on NT boxes, to enable access to them from other computers.

Hi

I have set up a file share folder on the AS400 and whilst logged on to
Navigator i can cut paste delete files etc. When i use windows explorer i
can see the files and open them but not make any changes or put any new
files into the IFS folder. What have I not set up correctly?

My Windows and AS400 login are the same name and password - My AS400 and
Client Access are at V5.2 and I'm on Windows XP SP2
