I _think_ they're looking into some option which will allow them to designate the old box as a 'disaster backup', allowing them to upgrade to v5r3 without paying for software maintenance. That's what they tell me, anyway.

Until the old box is so designated, they want to keep it at v5r2 because of other software license issues. And to keep the old box in production until the new one is ready-to-go, with all licenses, etc in place. Basically, upgrading the old box it is not an option until the new box is live.

You can upgrade if the hardware will support V5R3 and then have 70 days.

Old box is v5r2, new box is v5r3. Old box is no longer under software maintenance, so they won't be upgrading it to v5r3 (at this time).

There are literally hundreds of WRKDIRE entries, each with an STMP address. I sure don't want to key them manually, and will write a program if I need to (no biggie there)
