Frankly I don't agree with most of what the person says. Do you see TV ads for Exchange? Do you see a lot of TV ads for SQL Server? Not really. He said that MS markets the product by giving some parts away with each purchase of a PC. How many seats of Exchange or SQL server do you get with every PC purchased? With the Enterprise package on certain models of i5s and iSeries you get a certain number of seats of Notes. IBM once did a bang up job of marketing Notes. I can still remember my teenybopper daughter looking at me with awe and saying "Wow, you use Notes?". Granted I screwed up and got humble saying it's no big thing instead of trying to figure out how to continue the wow to her. You may thing that it's not important, but a few years later she was engaged for awhile to a lad who was replacing Notes for a large medical office. Sorry if I was a 'thread killer' with my post yesterday regarding IBM. Ironically I found this article this morning relative to IBM marketing of Notes. It's a few years old but it is the same story. You can basically insert iSeries into every reference to notes... So I guess it's not just the iSeries that's not being marketed... http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/55c38d716d632d9b8525689b005ba1c0/ca19437bf08a386485256c470068ebee?OpenDocument Regards, Jerry Gerald Kern IBM Certified AS/400 RPG IV Developer & RPG IV Programmer MIS Project Leader, Lotus Notes/Domino Administrator The Toledo Clinic, Inc. 4235 Secor Road Toledo, OH 43623-4299 Phone 419-479-5535 gkern@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ***** This email message, including any attachments, is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and privileged information.
