Dear Griz, By default, the i5 OS - OS/400 AFPDS to PCL transform maps requests for IBM AFP described fonts to TrueType fonts typically available in modern PCL capable printers. It uses an algorithm to convert the metrics of a specified IBM (FOCA) type of font to those of a TrueType font available in the target printer. Prior to release V5R2, the algorithm had some issues with certain font conversions which could cause over printing to occur. My suggestions would be as follows: Running V5R2 or V5R3 - report problem to IBM for assistance. Running V5R1 or earlier - try using a different typestyle for the field having the problem and see whether the problem disappears.
