Not an anomoly; you've just accepted the risk.  Or your server vendor
has.

Are you using Intel GbE NICs?  Everything I've heard makes them sound
like just about the best you can get in Windows World.  Also, hard-set
them for the speed (Gb, Full Duplex) vs. allowing them to auto-detect.
It can make a difference (even though it shouldn't).
