Honestly Joe, your answer was quite clear and I do agree with most of what you say (and like you, I too am almost ready to stop arguing because I'm just plain tired of it). 1 - TSM did not reach the end of it's cycle. It's being enhanced. It's very popular. It's just that IBM isn't putting any of the new versions on i5/os. Why not? 2 - If TSM is just a product, couldn't the RPG compiler be thought of as the same way? I mean, they both show up on DSPSFWRSC. Has IBM dropped languages in the past for the AS/400, like BASIC, RM-COBOL, FORTRAN, etc? There's already lots of grumbling that it would be nice to drop the RPG/400 compiler to push people to the RPG ILE compiler. But as you could point out, IBM still has the RPG II compiler going on it.
