The APIs you referred to are "performance collector APIs". This is a relatively old interface, which actually collects the performance data. Another group of APIs - "Collection Services collector APIs" - do not collect the data . They manage system collection mechanism. (In V5R3 several new commands were introduced to make this easier for green screen users.) Performance data is collected to an object of type *MGTCOL. After data is collected (or in parallel with data being collected), you can use CRTPFRDTA command to export collected data into a set of performance database files. The files are described here: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/info/rzahx/rzahxperfdatafiles1.htm you can run your own queries over these files. These files are used by Performance Tools product to produce all kinds of reports. Introduction to Collection Services can be found here: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/info/rzahx/rzahxcollectdatacs.htm Alexei "Elvis Budimlic" <ebudimlic@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent by: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx 07/07/2005 09:52 AM Please respond to Midrange Systems Technical Discussion To "'Midrange Systems Technical Discussion'" <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> cc Subject RE: Collect Performance Data This link seems applicable: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/info/apis/perf1.htm Looks like IBM wants you to use the APIs or iNav now.
