The only problem we had when we moved to V5R3 and this api, was the code that we used use /tmp to store the work file. Our job would create the file in /tmp. Then the QMSF part of it would puke trying to delete the file in /tmp. Now it's documented in the Memo to Users that /tmp acts more Unix like in that it will not allow someone to delete/change someone else's file in /tmp. Created a battle between the users and the user QMSF. Found that we could either use an API or iSeries Navigator to turn off this special attribute of /tmp. We quickly did so. We even got IBM to issue a ptf to stop turning it back on automatically after every IPL. Rob Berendt
